BRETT JOHNSON

Brett brings over a decade of experience and a unique blend of engineering expertise and skateboarding passion to his role as Lead Designer at Grindline Skateparks. A Civil Engineering graduate from Washington State University with a focus on Structural Engineering, Brett first joined Grindline as an intern and quickly became an integral part of the team.

Using 3D modeling, CAD drafting, and material optimization techniques, Brett ensures every park he designs is safe, functional, and tailored to its community. Favorite Grindline projects include The JTNY Powerhouse Skatepark in Jamestown New York, Rhodes Skatepark in Boise Idaho and Ben Root Skatepark in Anacortes Washington, all designs that showcase his ability to balance creative vision with technical precision.

Brett’s commitment to collaboration and innovation drives his work, creating spaces that inspire skaters of all levels while standing the test of time. When he’s not designing world-class skateparks, Brett enjoys exploring new skate spots around his home town of Puyallup, Washington.
