Alex’s journey with skateboarding and construction began in his childhood in Hawaii, where he built his first wooden ramp in his backyard. Now, more than 25 years later, his passion for both crafts has evolved into a lifelong commitment. After moving to Seattle, Alex developed a deep appreciation for the possibilities of concrete as a medium for skateparks. He earned a B.S. in Engineering from Western Washington University, blending his academic background with practical experience to bring innovation and precision to every project.
At Grindline, Alex contributes to every stage of skatepark development, from shaping initial concepts to overseeing their construction. He specializes in cost estimation, material sourcing, design refinements, submittals, and project coordination. Alex works closely with vendors, municipalities, and on-site crews to ensure seamless execution and that every detail aligns with the vision and goals of the community. His dedication and expertise help bring unique and enduring skateparks to life.
